The AcrylView professional quality cutting board is made of the same material used by institutional end users.  The boards are ½" thick, or about twice the thickness of your typical retail version.  Both sides of the board are usable and the side showed in the photo has troughs machined down the length, on the outer edges to capture liquids.  Both sides have a textured finish that help to stop foods from slipping on the surface.
